What's your preferred genre of music?

Well, the title says it all! Talk about your favourite music genre here.

To save space, I have grouped some genres together as I see fit - if you don't agree with the grouping, please state your preferred genre of the two in your post. Same goes for "Other" - please state genre in post.

Mine would have to be Rock, although I am into a lot of genres; mainstream music and otherwise!

I'd have to go with Rock/Metal, but people should also understand that I'm speaking of the good rock/metal. You know, most anything from 70-91 is good, but after that, its just in-audible screaming and emo kids. Its a shame what has happened to rock.

Long Live Metallica, AC/DC, Motely Crew, Boston, Europe, Iron Madian, Def Leppard, and so many others who's names I could continue to list.


Also, JackS, do you think we should move this to the "Polls" forum? There'd still be a link to it from here.

That'd be a hard call, there are so many good ones... It'd probably have to be One, with The Memory Remains pulling a close second. But I did like their version of Turn The Page. Thats just a good song, but I can't really credit them with it since its not their original work.

JackS: Case and point. It is under the "InfoHub" Category so I understand your thinking, and upon doing so, I agree that it should be posted here. After all, modderators are the only ones who can post polls outside of the polls category so there is still a handle on the situation, lol.

I used to have a Mix CD with tons of old music on it (I'm talking mostly 20s - 50s, with the occasional bit of Bach and Mozart thrown in). I enjoyed it thouroughly. If I typo'd on that, its fine. That's a hard word.

not too many listen to classical anymore... that happens to be some of what i listen to from time to time while i am studying, that and I love the violin... finding younger people that listen to classical is a rarity...

I occasionally listen to Classical music, especially the likes of Mozart, Beethoven, Bach and some other composers from that era.

Actually I am a fan of Classical music. The first instrument I learned to play was the piano, and although I can now play the piano and the guitar, Classical is a type of music I often play.
