As you all know, for a long time, Rita and I were without internet, which made progress on my private wow server, next to impossible. Plus, I was starting to make less money working on computers (because around Christmas, people figure "why fix my spouse's computer when I could get them one for Christmas?") so I took up a part time job at GameStop. Working there was great, excluding few hours and a low wage... But it was enjoyable and kept me busy.
The problem for me showed up when I was in the back room at work and saw, sitting on our shelf, litterally gathering dust - a Brady Games World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade guide and exclusive binder combo set. For anyone who's not aware: we have a plethera of stuff (such as Zunes and WoW Trading Cards) in the backroom of every store, destined to never get shelfed, but is available by request. I couldn't open the book, but I knew a few things from my own experience:
1) It would have all the vital quest information I would need to get the Draenei quests and Outlands quests working.
2) It would probably have something close enough to an atlas to allow me to attempt to populate some of my empty areas with NPCs.
3) I really needed that binder, because I have a lot of pages of data printed up that I've written on this whole private server deal.
Problem was, it was like $24.99, which was exactly $24.99 more than I had. So I waited untill my next pay check, payed off some debt I had, and took $10 and a bunch of games (for trade in), and went off to the GameStop nearest my house (which is not the one I work at, oddly enough). So I traded in my games and called on my 15% employee discount which, when combined, lowered the remaining price down to like $2.56, which I paid and was contented. All of this took place on a Sunday.
Two days later (Tuesday), the reason I'm ranting occured. I called work, to tell them they could take the copy I had in the back with my name sticky-noted on it off hold, only to be told that it had been pennied out Monday. For those of you who don't know what pennied out means, it means that something has sat on the shelf so long, that all across the world, all the stores "destroy" the item. In truth, most stores just give employees who are lucky enough to be working at the time, dibs of items which have been pennied out.
So the only way I can figure it... These books had set on the shelves so long (because no one knew they were there after the first month or so), that when I bought mine, I balanced the scales enough in GameStop's favor so that they could destroy the rest without a profit loss. In other words, I was the last person to buy the guide, while, from then on in, a ton of GameStop employees world wide, got it for free, and probably eBayed it. _________________

For those who are intrested:
This is what I was bought, that now, all across ebay, is being sold off by GameStop employees, lol. _________________
