ok, so i was bored yet again with the same old stuff and i was surprised that the kids ate it... Kids ate it up and wanted seconds... sorry no picture guys!
heat a little bit of oil in the bottom of a pan, add 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup and half a can of water, heat a bit. I had some New York Strip Steaks so i added them to the mix and cooked them until desired doneness.... the "sauce" went great over rice. _________________ Never fear what others think, because the people who mind don't matter and the people who matter don't mind. Wow... See, this to me seems like something that's rather simple to do, but also something that would cost you an arm and a leg in a restraunt, lol. My pallet keeps me away from many things, and tragically mushrooms are amongst them, but I could imagine something like this being a real hit at a dinner party. _________________

You may be right, it could be a big hit at a dinner party... the kids wanted more after they were done but sadly I only had enough for one helping and that didn't include me! I'm unfortunately in the same position as James - I don't eat mushrooms. Normally at restaurants I have a steak in pepper sauce - I suppose it will work here.
For the record, I don't know how much "an arm and a leg" is to you two, but over here this meal costs approximately €6.50 in all good restaurants, which is about $10.
Of course, it's obviously much less expensive to cook it yourself at home. I normally skip the restaurants - a family friend, Juergen, used to be a 5-star chef at the Hilton Hotel in Paris. Needless to say the preferred dining location is his house. _________________

To me, "An Arm and a Leg" is anything with more than a 60% profit markup on it. There are a ton of restraunts out there (not even the fancy dining ones) that will attempt to charge me $14 for a steak that cost them $6 to buy, prepare, and serve. To me, that's outrageous. Smaller towns (such as mine) usually have restraunts that can be as affordable as $8 to $10 dollars for a good steak; but they're still having a very nice mark up.
As of yet, the best steak I've ever had was had in my own home, not out in a restraunt. Same with Ribs. So I'm much more inclined to make two, or sometimes three steaks at home, for the price it would cost me to have one at a restraunt. _________________
