It's my birthday on 19th July and I shall turn 15. After a long day out with my friends, I will return to my house, walking through my adoring masses who will shower me with affection...

And when I get inside I'll want to settle down and play a game. I've decided that I'd like a game for my birthday, but I couldn't decide between Black and White II and Battle for Middle Earth.

But then, oh happy coincidence, I just happen to find them bunched together in this pack, along with an expansion for Black and White II, and two C&C games.

Do you think that would be worth getting? When you consider the individual price of the games, it's really cheap, which makes me unsure as to whether or not its a scam. It is the same price on Amazon (but I won't go there, I boycott Amazon) and a couple of other similar sites I checked out.

Can you spot a scam?

I've actually purchased that EA Games Strategy pack, lol. I enjoy, but I did share the Games with Davy, based on taste.

Black and White II requires PixelShader 1.1 or better to be played (this means that you'll need a decent video card).

LOTR:Battle for Middle Earth suggests pixel shader, but can be played without it.

On a personal note, I find B&W2 to be a MUCH better game, as does Davy, though he's stuck with Battle for Middle Earth at the moment on account of lack of PixelShader.

The Command & Conquere games are fun to hack, and decently fun to play if your online and up against someone with some strategic sense. But as far as solo gameplay goes, it leaves me wanting.

B&W2:Battle of the Gods is simply awesome, but changed the feel of the game for me, so I uninstalled it out of prefference (once I'm contended with all of my B&W2 progress, I'll re-install BOTG).

If you're confused over pixelshader on your video card, let me know what sort you have, and I'll tell you if you're able to support it.

I'm currently using NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200.

Awesome. I'm very familiar with the FX 5200 and I can tell you that they are excellent video cards.

When you first install B&W2, however, all of your detail settings are at their lowest, because the game underestimates your Video Card. If you've got more than 512 MB worth of RAM, you can adjust the settings to pretty much whatever you want, without any noticible lag. Howerver, if you've got 1GB or more of RAM, you can set all of the detail settings at max and not lag at all.

The games in the pack don't require pixelshader, so they'll play exceptionally well for you.

One otherthing to look into: There is a plug-in for Oblivion that makes it playable on lower-spec systems, it goes by the name of "Oldblivion".

I have 1GB of RAM, but I don't think my PC is working to its full potential right now - many things are slow to load, its as if processing speed has gone down to about a sixth of what it should be.
