INTRODUCTION

The year is 2552, and the Earth is but a memory. Sometime in the 23rd Century, the long-delayed project to construct a permant and fully habitable building on Mars was completed.

Although the structure was fairly basic relative to the technology levels of the 23rd Century, it was able to sustain four families, each of four people, for several years.

The families were merely the products of marriages and births that had been pre-arranged by the International Government, or the IG for short.

Eventually, the IG declared that the terraforming and colonisation of other planets was the key, the solution to Earth's overpopulation and severe dwindling of natural resources.

Over the remainder of the 23rd Century, hundreds of spaceships were built. New technology was developed at record speeds, and mankind was literally catapulted into the next great space age.

At the start of the 24th Century, every last man, woman and child on Earth boarded one of the spaceships and set off to start a new life on another planet.

The International Government changed its name and status to the Intergalactic Government, retaining the old acronym.

Nobody ever returned to the Earth, because it had become little more than a swamp, where the pollution was so thick that not even the moon was visible at night. Anything brought along on the spaceships is of great value, and even toothpicks from the 21st Century sell for billions of credits to private collectors.

So it has been for the past 250 years.

YOUR PLACE IN THE STORY

In the new galaxy, there are spaceships everywhere. Fighters, huge transports, salvage rigs. Every kind of ship imaginable. You have always dreamed about living and working on a ship.

Today, you are about to realise that dream. In this RPG you will be able to create your own ship, or become a crew member on somebody else's. Live your life as you wish. Your ship is your ticket to freedom - your ticket into the black.

CREATING A SHIP

If you wish to create your own ship and become the Captain, you must simply give your ship a name and provide a full, detailed description.

Give your ship a purpose, and keep that purpose in mind while creating your ship.

I realise that I am somewhat overstepping the limits of reality with this RPG, but please don't overstep them any further, and keep your ship designs on par with the others. You can have special features that give your ship an edge, but please no planet destroyers!

Remember to update your ship's status regularly so that other people know where you are and what you are doing.

CREATING A CHARACTER

This should be the first thing you do. Create a character the same way as you create a ship - provide a name and a description. You can write your description in biography form, or list your character's features such as age, height, weight, etc.

CHARACTER INTERACTIONS

Privacy exists in the 26th Century! If you want to talk with another character, please use TC's PM system. You can sign up as a crew member, or merely exchange death threats.
