[Community Voice] Change Shoutbox?

I'm sick and tired of the in-page pop-up ads that are being generated by the shoutbox...

It only started doing this recently, but I'm motioning to change to a non-ad-supported shoutbox.

Anyone else think I should do this, or perhapes have suggestions as to some good free shotboxes?

You should make one that screams at you in the noise Jim Carrey made in Dumb and Dumber untill they at least read it.

However, I highly doubt this is possible. So I could just be making an attempt to get some posts in untill im no longer the "Creepy new guy who posts alot"

Lol, believe me, some forum users top 100 posts in their first day. Hasn't happened here yet, but it's been known to happen.

On Voide I got 200 in my first day, then following a long period of refusal to post I racked up a further 900 over the course of a week.

At InfoHub there aren't enough topics.

More users = more topics = more posts.

On-topic, I don't see why the shoutbox needs to be changed. I would wait until we can meet those big vBulletin plans you've been aspiring to, whereupon we can get a REAL shoutbox Wink

I suppose, I just dislike people profitting from having ads on my site. If anyone gets to profite from this place, it's us, and we're not exactly raking in the cash, you know?

Then find a webhost and upload phpBB3 yourself instead of using a free hosting service, that way you control every aspect of the site, including ads.
