And the prize for most meaningful post on Infohub-forums.com goes to...
*drumroll*
*some more drumroll*
*I walk out and get some ice water while the drumroll continues*
*Still more drumroll*
*The drummer guy starts panting, but the drumroll continues*
*I return with ice water*
*Drummer guy dies - drum roll stops*
Robc1907, for his post "Just Testing" in the "All other Topics" forum.
*crowd of maybe 4 people goes moderately wild* _________________

I downloaded the first two sets, but not the third one because the files have been deleted. It's a shame, I really wanted to play Call of Duty 4.
The first two sets took me only an hour or so to download, and then an additional hour and a half to extract, but when I decided to run the setup.bat it said "the system cannot find the file specified" and since the useless piece of time-wasting junk won't tell me what file it wants, I can't fix it.
I give up, I'm just going to buy the damned game.
I did find a download in one link, but whatever genius decided to pack a 6.3GB game into one link obviously didn't consider the time it would take to download.
1 day 20 hours - yeah, right. I have a Rapidshare Premium account now so I've been searching for Rapidshare links. I've found several with the 26-link sets, but I'm not going to use them because of the pathetic setup.bat installation method, and all the 67-link sets which give you an ISO have been deleted.
One of the 26-link sets turned out to be a RAR of someone's holiday photos. THREE GIGABYTES OF HOLIDAY PHOTOS, WITH NO DUPLICATES.
Even if I COULD successfully download and install the game I'm not even sure that it would work online, which is ultimately what I want. I'll just keep searching, if I get no results within a week I'll wait for Christmas and buy it, or have someone buy it for me.
I also downloaded Call of Duty 3 for the XBOX 360 but the language options were French or Portuguese - I don't speak either of them. It seems like the whole Call of Duty series has some sort of download curse on it.
If you can find any of the 67-link sets that actually work, please let me know. _________________

Ah, what I'd give for a Rapidshare Premium account... Not much, cause I'm poor.
Anyhoo...
If your setup.bat is complaining that it can't find the file specified it is almost always reffering to the setup.exe file. As you may know, a .bat (or "batch") file is really nothing more than a series of command prompt or DOS commands that are written out in notepad and saved as a .bat file.
The computer then opens the list and executes all commands in the batch.
For this reason, it is impossible to have JUST a setup.bat (because a batch file is too limited to actually setup a program on a computer). An exe (executable file), however, is more than capable.
Odds are your batch file simply contains a few commands to identifiy your operating system, and then set the program compatibility of your setup.exe accordingly...
If you're running Windows XP, however, you should be able to execute the setup.exe directly without any problem whatsoever, and if you do, just adjust the compatibility down to something like Windows 2000.
To adjust compatibility of an exe, right click on it and go to properties. Then on the Properties window, find the compatibility tab, and adjust the "Compatibility Mode" settings accordingly to your operating system or the system requirements of the program. _________________

There is no setup.exe file.
Thanks for the links flozz, but you forgot to include the password. What is it? _________________

If there is no setup.exe, than that's the file that's missing... Bummer, too. You might try running a search for it in the sub-folders if any are present, sometimes uploaders accidently re-arrange files. _________________
